THE EARLIEST WESTERN INDIVIDUAL DEPICTION OF ALBAY GULF with Mayon Volcano.
On the left: the first depiction in print of a Filipino: a native from the Island of Capul. Van Noort writes: “…have very nice and beautifully cut engravings on their skin. On the right is an inhabitant of New Spain (Mexico) denoted as an “artisan”.
Condition
verso blank, laid down, browned, with insect damage in bottom margin, not affecting plate. Still very good condition.
