Meyer was an anthropologist, ethnologist, and natural scientist, for many years Director of the Royal Zoological and Anthropologic-Ethnographic Museum in Dresden/Germany, and in that capacity, published tremendously popular early albums of New Guinea, Celebes, and the Philippines as this one which gathers all that was known till then about the Negritos and Aetas. “printed for private distribution, and in deep appreciation submitted by the author”.

contemporary marbled carton binding, small loss, spine heavily worn, ex-libris on inner cover, Library stamp and markings on title page, some pages loose, foxed plates, otherwise clean pages.
