Description
hand-coloured copper engraving map from ‘Lo Stato Presente di Tutti…’; Italian edition of Thomas Salmon’s ‘Modern History: or, the present state of all Nations’. Attribution to Dutch bookseller, publisher, and cartographer Isaak Tirion (1705 – 1765) appears in the cartouche. Albrizzi was the first publisher to issue Tirion’s maps whose own atlas was issued in Amsterdam only in 1744.
Condition
light paper toning, binding trim at lower right margin has been expertly extended, paper with watermark.
