A fine and important early map of the Central Philippines shows the course negotiated by Joris van Spilberghen via the San Bernadino Straits between Luzon and Samar during his visit to the islands in 1616 in the course of his important circumnavigation of the globe 1616-1618. This early ed. shows the cartouche and the human figures in Mindoro and Samar.
