Ornithological print from ‘The Exploration of Kina Balu, North Borneo’; plate 146. First edition, the plates were lithographed by the author from his own water-colour sketches. The hand-coloured plates depict insects, mammals and birds, some of the latter in the style of Keulemans. The authour, an ornithologist, spent four years in North Borneo, Java, Palawan and the state of Malacca. He brought back specimens of many new animals including 45 species of birds.
