GALLERY OF PRINTS participated in the Fair The Nonesuch: Fine Collectibles and Rarities, a new kind of Fair that showcased a vetted selection of art, antiques, furniture, jewelry, books, maps and prints, rare objects and other collectibles in a unique setting. Held from October 27 to 29, 2017 at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City, The Nonesuch highlighted the quality and rarity of featured pieces.
The exhibition presented extremely rare pieces, such as prints from the 15th to the 17th Century, like Maps and Views, and 19th century lithographs from Justiniano Asuncion, Jean Mallat, and others, as well as the 1748-dated German translation by Petro Probst of Francisco Colin’s History of the Philippines with the almost impossible to find 270-year-old Kaliwoda map of the Philippines with the inset of Manila, by Fernando Valdes Tamon after Pedro Murillo Velarde.
